About Us

Out of the Clinic. Into the Outdoors.

Verde Therapy was founded on a simple idea — that healing doesn’t have to happen indoors. We offer exercise physiology in natural spaces, tailored to your NDIS and personal goals. It’s about more than movement — it’s about confidence, connection, and doing more than you thought possible.

The Verde Therapy Story

Movement, Nature, and a New Way to Heal

Verde Therapy was created to offer something different — an alternative to the clinical environments that so many people find intimidating or disconnected. Founded by Accredited Exercise Physiologist Dougal Stedman, Verde takes therapy into the outdoors, combining evidence-based movement with the proven mental and physical benefits of being in nature. It’s therapy that feels natural, purposeful, and personal.

We work closely with NDIS participants to deliver sessions tailored to their individual goals — whether that means rebuilding strength, boosting confidence, or simply enjoying movement again. From mountain biking through forest trails to gentle walks in local parks, our approach is flexible, inclusive, and client-led. At Verde, we don’t just help you reach your goals — we help you enjoy the journey

Founder & Accredited Exercise Physiologist

Meet Dougal Stedman

Dougal Stedman is an Accredited Clinical Exercise Physiologist (AEP) and the founder of Verde Therapy — a practice built on the belief that movement in nature can transform lives.

Holding a Bachelor of Clinical Exercise Physiology (Honours) from The University of Queensland and a Certificate of EcoTherapy, Dougal blends science-backed exercise prescription with the restorative power of the outdoors. With extensive experience in musculoskeletal rehabilitation, chronic condition management, and mental health, he brings a deeply personal, outcomes-driven approach to every client interaction.

His mission? To help people realise they’re capable of more than they think.

With a background in leadership and team development, Dougal’s calm, empowering presence makes clients feel supported and in control of their journey — whether they’re riding mountain trails or starting with gentle movement. After several years in clinical and hybrid roles, Verde Therapy is the result of his vision: therapy that leaves the four walls behind and meets people where they feel most alive outside.
